One of the most important components of any business plan is the financial projections. The financial projections form the bedrock of the business and its outlook. For investors, it also provides them with a window into how you think about your business, how aggressive or conservative you are in your approach. In fact, the financial projection gives a much deeper understanding of the character of the founder than the rest of the business plan.
Building a great financial model takes a lot of experience and foresight. How to get started and what are the things that you need to watch out for when putting together the projections. This will be the crux of what we will be covering over the course of this session on Financial projections. We will also look at scenario planning which everyone including Sequoia has advised startups to undertake.
