Overcoming challenge is not enough, you rise above to touch the stars

Overcoming challenge is not enough, you rise above to touch the stars

When you are deep into a challenge, when the moment looks not salvageable, it seems like a dead-end and you feel the pressure from every inch of you to give up, you know that there is no way out is when you know that it is now that you have to make the run for it, you put in every ounce of that part of yourself left to fight back together, you hold your head high, you put your hands behind you like wings, you rise up till you are on the tip of your toes and then you close your eyes and you feel it, you feel yourself fly high, you feel the moment when you tell yourself, “I am not done yet, I am here to shine, I am alive, I am here…” and you see the solution right ahead of you, you see the light, you see yourself reach out to it, you stand to seize the opportunity to overcome the challenge but you don’t stop there, you have found this new power within you, you did not just survive, your rose above, you touched the stars with your power to rise, you are the power…

I write this with every belief that each one of us have done this some time in our lives but we do not think about it that much… I decided to word my experience out in here and have it for many of you to relate to and for me to remember the place I am in today and value it.

I am touching the stars as I write this today, but my last 60 days have been the toughest and most challenging, as a person, as a woman, as an entrepreneur and as a human being. But I have not a second’s regret of every moment of those 60 days, because each of those moments have just made me this super woman, super human and super person, who has the power in her to voice the challenge for others to know that it is okay to be pulled down, it is okay to be challenged and it is just fine to be beaten down, because when it does happen, is when you feel the power of overcoming all that and shining out.

I am an independent, single, mother / founder of a startup. I choose to live my life with my terms, I choose to be the person I want to be and I believed that I was not weak, that I had no dependencies and I can do it all. I was wrong. In the last 60 days, it was abundantly clear to me that I had believed to be an independent woman, but I was not, I depended on few people around, I believed to be strong, but I was not, relationships made me weak, I believed I had no dependencies, I was wrong, I depended on some around. So when all my beliefs were broken at one single moment, I was left shattered, I was left weak, I was left in tears.

I was no longer the independent, powerful, single woman in my head. I might not have projected the same out but within me, I was no way that. There were moments, I thought it was the end of me, the me that was powerful, the me that was strong, the me that was clear. 60 days were just not 60 days, it felt like 6 decades, each day was a life time and every morning, I would tell myself that I was going to make it, by sunset, I had lost the fight, I would weep myself to sleep. Not to mention the scary, nasty and ugly days.

But here I am, touching the stars, flying high, being a leader that will just not survive but will shine out to make any and every one around me, have a bright and sunny day, including the reason that challenged me. I have the wings of a phoenix, I have the power to reach the highest and brightest of stars. What made this happen? here are some tools for you to take away from my experience and make it your tools for the power you can get.

  1. Let the feelings flow: It is when you bottle your feelings up is when you never ever let it go, so if you wanna cry, if you wanna scream, if you wanna yell, if you wanna just bash someone up, do it, let the feelings flow, there is only so much that can be felt but once you are done, you will see your raw and clear self, you will see yourself in a form that you have never seen, you will see the self that you have never ever met. You will love it, you will love YOU…
  2. Do not Lie: Do not ever lie to yourself that you are fine or you will make it through or things will be fine by itself. It will not be, period. You will have to make it right, so the moment you start lying to yourself, you are doomed because you will not give yourself the chance to make things right, to undo the wrongs, to overcome, the chance to shine out, the chance to touch the stars
  3. Look at what you have, not what you lost: It is easy for all of us to look at things we have when things are going great, but when things get tough, you look at all the negative things you are surrounded with. You look at the things, people and moments you lost. That is the worst you could ever do to yourself. It is at this time, that you look at what you have? What you would have lost if you would have continued? the people, the relationships, the moments, the time, the memories and the belief. You will see the huge impact this does to fuel your flight towards the stars…

So, don’t be worried, don’t be scared and do not fear challenges, take it from someone, who has and continues to face them, it just makes us so much more greater, better and bigger as human beings. So if you ask me, truly, I say, I love challenges and I love the pain, I love the struggles but most loveable is the moment when I shine out, when I touch those stars, when I become the power for myself and the people around. When I become the true ME…
